Summary

Life gets pretty boring when you can beat the snot out of any villain with just one punch。

Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique。 However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!

The Monster Association has kidnapped Tareo, the boy who admires Garo, and now Garo finds himself plunging headfirst and alone into the heart of the Monster Association’s hideout。 Meanwhile, the Hero Association pushes forward with its operation to rescue Waganma, while Genos and the others are living it up enjoying hot pot at Saitama’s place!

I like how at the end the authors just admit that invincible heroes are boring, so they're going to focus of the villains instead。 Ha! I like how at the end the authors just admit that invincible heroes are boring, so they're going to focus of the villains instead。 Ha! 。。。more

Garo has taken his rightful place as my favorite One Punch Man character。 And the art in this manga is consistently incredible!🔥🔥🔥

Garo is becoming even more powerful! Exciting! Awesome fight sequences! Cool panels!

Best。 Panels。 Yet。

This was pretty interesting as it mainly follows Garo and I'm wondering if there's going to be a bit of a subversion of current events: rather than Saitama facing the expected monster, will he face a powered up Garo that he's inadvertently taken out easily in all previous encounters?

Garou has officially surpassed Geno's as my favorite character。 This man。。。 No。 This MONSTER is the most in depth and interesting character in the series。 I'm rooting for him to become the #1 monster just as much as I'm rooting for Deku to be the #1 Hero in MHA。 Garou has officially surpassed Geno's as my favorite character。 This man。。。 No。 This MONSTER is the most in depth and interesting character in the series。 I'm rooting for him to become the #1 monster just as much as I'm rooting for Deku to be the #1 Hero in MHA。 。。。more

3/5Who is the main character, again? Garo? Saitama? Gyoro-Gyoro? One of the numerous, random heroes? I honestly don't know anymore。 I have conflicting thoughts。 The series starts off as a parody of its genre, but now it seems to be trying to establish itself as a serious shonen。 I am quite invested in the plot, but I miss the original charm! We don't have a lot of nonsensical manga that poke light fun and add good humor to the shelves! 3/5Who is the main character, again? Garo? Saitama? Gyoro-Gyoro? One of the numerous, random heroes? Phenomenal。 One-Punch Man may be truly a great manga series, yet it is mainly focused on Saitama。 Though I don't complain about that, volume 19 starts the reaping of what character development ONE and Yusuke Murata has sown in him, it is a return of investment you have given to Garo。Although the fight and is not as epic as Boros vs Saitama (man that was truly a mesmerizing fight that I wanted to read over and over and I am yet to see a fight in OPM as magnificent as that), the one seen here is h Phenomenal。 One-Punch Man may be truly a great manga series, yet it is mainly focused on Saitama。 Though I don't complain about that, volume 19 starts the reaping of what character development ONE and Yusuke Murata has sown in him, it is a return of investment you have given to Garo。Although the fight and is not as epic as Boros vs Saitama (man that was truly a mesmerizing fight that I wanted to read over and over and I am yet to see a fight in OPM as magnificent as that), the one seen here is heavier。 Perhaps it is fought underground, or it is dark, or maybe, it is the sheer determination of Garo to win that gives this fight a certain gravitas than fights with Saitama。This also displays a lot of flexibility from ONE and Murata, deviating from the usual lighthearted and comically overly awesome to one that is borderline Seinen in nature。 This tension actually makes me all the more excited when our bald hero steps in。 How would he handle things? Who would he fight with?So oh yeah, I am ready。 。。。more

King passes out, and when he leaves in the morning, the Hero Association guys pick him up and have been looking for him to join the team。And Garo。。。 1) Ambushes King the Ripper in the Monster Assoc halls (who was taking Tareo to a room for torture) and kills him in battle, saving Tareo。2) Faces off against Showerhead, Super Mouse, and Unihorn (3 minor level monsters) who put up a decent fight, but run away when the fight disturbs Pochi, a huge "Dragon level" threat dog monster。3) Faces off against Pochi, and holds his own, constantly surpassing his limits, but ultimately ends up in the throne room of Gyoro-Gyoro。4) Has a long discussion with Gyoro-Gyoro about joining the Monster Association。 G-G also tells the story of how he took the potential of another monster and formed him into Monster King Orochi, claiming that he can make Garo great as well。5) To prove he doesn't need it, Garo fights Orochi and loses, but not before showing off his skill of Prodigy, which allows him to copy moves he sees someone else do。。。 which Orochi has as well。Leaving Garo like that? Let's move onto the next Volume。。。。Recommend。。。 but I hope the heroes come back into play next time。 。。。more

Not a bad volume, but the plot still feels kinda dragged。 This volume focuses mostly on Garou, and his evolution as a creature。Big setup, hopefully the payoff will come soon。

This one isn’t as interesting or as fun as most of the other books have been。 But it still feels like the story is building and *alllmost* at its climax。

This was a good volume to build to the conclusion of this arc, but I am ready for the One-Punch Man to do his thing now。 The basic concept of this series is that seemingly unstoppable villain lays wast to everything and Saitama beats it with one punch。 Part of the charm with this manga is that it is a parody/send-up of shonen/superhero tropes。 This title is at its best in my opinion when it shows the absurdity of what it is parodying, but after about volume 7 when they really started to go for a This was a good volume to build to the conclusion of this arc, but I am ready for the One-Punch Man to do his thing now。 The basic concept of this series is that seemingly unstoppable villain lays wast to everything and Saitama beats it with one punch。 Part of the charm with this manga is that it is a parody/send-up of shonen/superhero tropes。 This title is at its best in my opinion when it shows the absurdity of what it is parodying, but after about volume 7 when they really started to go for a more traditional shonen narrative within the parody, this title has started to loose some of its potency。 Maybe it is because I read other manga now and not just this one, but these drawn-out plotlines and arcs while Saitama is doing random things cause we know everything will be solved when he punches someone to dust is not as entertaining as it one was。 Yusuke Murata 's artwork is still as on-point as ever and was one of the highlights here。 Had I come to One-Punch Man for a traditional shonen narrative then this volume would be exceptional, but in reality I am ready for this arc (and maybe this series) to wrap up。 。。。more
